Kenya — Fieldwork 2024

Spent summer 2024 in Nairobi, learning from the implementing partner, the enumerators, and the mamapreneurs. Started with sawa-sawa, ended with nyama choma. Asante Kenya!

China — Internship 2025

Spent summer 2025 in Asia's giant, interning in the Economics Department at the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. Lucky timing too—2025 was AIIB's Annual Meeting and its 10th anniversary. The bank taught me water governance (and a glimpse into how a multilateral development bank works behind the scenes); Beijing taught me the rest. Proudest moment: a resto owner thought I was from Xinjiang (mind you, Dilraba is from Xinjiang).
